I too love it. Mine are pretty boring they are just the white plastic tabs sold at garden stores. I clean them and reuse them each season. Your pic is so much cuter.

Hay ya'll. I have saved some of my mushroom cans and cut the bottoms off. I have a ring of metal. I flattened them and now will punch with a nail the names of plants in each section. I try to reuse what I have and these will last for several years. I am thinking for attaching them to large sticks that are cut from around the ranch or I can nail them to the raised bed sides. I like the rock idea for adding all the color....cute idea!!
Hugs and prayers, Daizy

Those are adorable!
Last year I used sticks from a tree in the yard. Used a knife to remove some of the bark and wrote on them with a Sharpie marker.

Did you stamp them? I love the look of the stamped flatware markers.

Wow, love these creative garden labels! So many fun ideas that seem easy to make and would add a fun addition to the garden look. Sharon, I need to take a look at the badge idea too. Great idea to get some ideas and earn a badge along with it.

Since I've been planning for a while here's some things I've thought would be great in addition to the rocks:

I pick up a fat handful of free wooden paint stirrers in the Paint Dept. whenever I'm at Home Depot. (I asked one time and the guy there said I was welcome to all I want. We had a nice talk about vegetables. So I guess it's okay.) Sometimes they have the real long ones, which are a bonus. I mark the variety, seed source, plant data & any other useful info on these with a Sharpie.
But Heather, I love that upended glass jar over the seed packet! I might try that this year. Seems I always have canning jars around without lids. |

Killarney, I love what you did with the broken pots and Heather, that wine cork is genius. Not that I drink a lot of wine or anything! Mine are not cute, but they are functional and we were in a pinch. These are made with wooden skewers and duct tape, lol! You can see our tomatoes and peppers are enjoying the sunshine.

I found a huge number of tiny terracotta pots at an estate sale last year and I would like to think of some way to mark them so that if, say ,I want to grow a different variety I can reuse them...they are so cute!
I love the rocks and the jars are cute too.
My other thought was spatulas from the dollar store or junk shops could have the variety laminated on or engraved into . Kind of fitting in my veggie garden

Small clay pots, hmmmm, you can write on them with permanent markers, they come in lots of colors now or you can paint them white, and then write or draw pictures with craft paint. Get some string and break some sticks small enough to fit across the hole in the bottom, tie the string to a stick, thread it through the hole and hang them up or use wire and bend it into a hook. Just a few thoughts.

I love these! but 15.00 each (Williams-Sonoma) is too expensive for my budget! Easy to make if your a wood- Worker! The door has a hinge and opens to add your Seed packet.

Love those Connie, but I agree - $15 is too much for me too. Do you think it would be possible to get a bigger piece of wood and modge-podge the seed packet onto it????? I wonder.......
