You might like the "lagenlook" style. It has the "gypsy" flair while being controlled enough for all but the most gruesomely conservative occasions. Google "lagenlook" for patterns and ready-mades . The latter are usually too pricey for my blood, but inspiring.

I am SLOWLY discovering that I (plus size and over 50) actually look better in the gypsy look than in pants. They skirts hide my mommy tummy and the tunics do too. I am embracing the look more and more!

Thanks for sharing the lagenlook concept. I've always loved that look but didn't know it had a name. The potential for creative and unique clothes is huge! I'd also love to find pattern ideas. I think you should wear others that make you happy and express your personality. Life's too short for boring clothes!
