Has anyone hear about this. When my parent came over for Christmas dinner, my Dad gave to me a box linens that belonged to his Mother. A few of them were treated with the processing called blue-ing. The note also said that this preserves the linens from yellowing. Only one has a small unknown stain/spot on it. Q: how would I go about trying to clean it?

Janice Bluing is an old and still used additive to rinse water to remove the prevent yellowing in white linens and clothing. You still wash the items normally that have had bluing added in prior washing and add it again each time they are washed if you want. You can buy bluing in the laundry aisle of the grocery store it is labeled Mrs Stewarts Bluing. I also add it to my bird bath and backyard pond as the birds love it.

Thanks Kathy

Janice

P.S. There is a small part of me that wants to wash out the bluing...but if I do these linens are sure to yellow because they are so old.
