I was having a hard time taking a black and white photo that really spoke to me. I decided just to post a few and maybe they'll speak to someone else :)

I love the black and white photos. The cow spoke to me and said "MOOOOOO". The sky pictures are absolutely gorgeous.

You make me laugh Marie!!! I hope it was Ivy (#30) that spoke to you and not Willy (the stuffed cow). If Willy starts talking I'm going to have to put him out in the barn rather than sitting at my dining room table!!!!

Heather....love your black and whites. Do you really have an Allis-Chalmers tractor? My kids had a toy riding tractor when they were little. It looked just like the big one in your pic. My hubby got it for them....he worked for Allis-Chalmers for 20 years in the Material Handling division. Translation...lift trucks.
Anyway...the wood stacked by the door is my favorite. Though they are all beautiful.

Yup! We actually have 3 old Allis-Chalmers tractors and 1 International Harvester. I didn't know they made Allis riding tractors. Was it a pedal tractors? I had a Massey Ferguson pedal tractor when I was little.
The wood by the door is my favorite B&W too. I would love to get paid to take pictures some day so I'm trying to do the assignments each week rather than pick through my best photos. That way I can hopefully learn things so that if I'm photographing a wedding on an overcast/raining/crappy weather day I can still take some great photos. I love seeing everyone's photos. It gives me great ideas of things to try. This was a great idea to do for the year. If anyone has any comments or ideas for me to change on my photos to make them better or different please don't hesitate to let me know.

The sky pictures you did are extremely beautiful. I especially like the bottom one with the sunset colors reflecting off the clouds. Masterful!

Our skies have been pretty boring this week, but it did clear late one afternoon. Here's a chickadee perched in the plum tree with our beautiful carolina blue skies waiting while I fill the feeder...

still messing around with the B&W
I couldn't find anything good in the snow so I took off my boots and took a picture :) Not my favorite picture, but there's not much to work with right now.

If you click on "Reply to This Topic" you will see a string of icons next to Format:. The last one on the right is the command to upload an image. Click on browse, then look through the files, flash drive or camera memory disc for the picture, double click on it and click on "upload". It might take a little while to finish.

Here is my submission for Winter.
Here is a sky picture.
Looking down on last spring's garden from an upstairs window.
This is my "framed picture".
I figured I'd get in several while I practiced the procedure. I'll have to work on the couple I've missed but I'm up to date with the others for now.
Thanks for starting this thread. I have enjoyed what I've seen and been inspired to sign up for a photography course on CD!

Marie.....Looking Down pics....very cute idea.
Susan....all very nice....I too decided late that I may want to join in! better late than never, as 'they' say! LOL :)
Kathy.....the chickadee and the sky are delightful.
Heather.....black and white, looking down.....love it.....interesting combo! And...yes the kids A-C tractor was a pedal model....they got lots of use and then we passed it on to their younger cousins and my SIL and BIL still have it for their grandkids!
