I can open my mouth and celebrate with my daughter. Back on Nov. 12th., her boyfriend of 2 years called and asked for her hand in marriage. I became overjoyed and started crying, not because of her getting engaged we figured they would get married someday, but because he called to ask for our permission. I am still in a joyous state of mind over that call, what a respectful guy she is getting. I was sworn not to utter a word to her and boy that has been hard, we talk everyday, I keep wanting to tell her about him calling and just how over the top it was for me. Trust me sisters when I say this has been the hardest thing I have done in long time, for she is also my best friend.

Oh Karla! Congratulations!!!!!! How precious that he did that! I pray that my daughters' future husbands do the same! My poor hubby - he asked my parents their permission and later that same day, he asked me :) He apparently couldn't wait after he got their permission, lol. And his parents ended up meeting me AFTER we were already engaged!

It is so special! Congratulations to you all. When my dd was being courted her boyfriend came and asked permission and the poor guy had to wait two weeks for an answer. He was living ten hours away and so it was a challenge for them to have a long distance courtship. As well as for us to get to know him. His parents lived twenty minutes from us so they had more of a chance to get to know our daughter. But they have been happily married for almost four years and they have two beautiful little girls.
