Now we know what a 50 year old Peppermint stick looks like! LOL! This was found, old store stock in a warehouse in Dyersburg, Tn. Never opened. It Was a Christmas gift to me about 7 years ago. I remember the beads with the plastic cord and the little tea set and ring and necklace. The little charms in the the toe use to be 1 penny with a gumball! They were always on the 10 cent toy rack at our Rexall Drug store! I just loved this when I got it. I hope you do too! Big Hug!

They still have the net stockings but now they are usually filled with dog toys. That is the only section I have seen them in nowadays.

Love those stockings especially the vintage tag on top. How pretty to decorate with these days.

Of course I remember these stockings!! I love that yours still have the original contents and the paper top with the Santa on it! What a treasure! I remember that every year in Girl Scouts, we would fill several stockings like this for boys and girls as a service project connected to the Salvation Army. They were then distributed to children in the community . We all had such fun collecting goodies and making things for this project. We also added a nice pair of socks )knee socks for girls and regular cuffed socks for boys) to our stockings. Did anyone else do a stocking project with these net stockings as a child?

Thanks for sharing Connie! I am so glad that you brought this up again! Wonderful Christmas memory!!

Oh yes.....when I was a kid my parents took us to the Rotary Club Holiday Party every year. Santa would always make a jolly appearance and have a red net stocking full of candy for us to take home. Fun times!

Cheers! ~ Marilyn

Love these pictures:-) :-) :-) my granny used to get a giant peppermint stick at Christmas...she would put it away...then bring it out in Febuary or March...break it and give it to us...oh the sugar we consumed back in the day:-) :-) :-)

Hugs!

We use to fill them at Sunday school and delivered them to the Nursing home and sing for the People there. Judy, now we know that peppermint stick would last long after Christmas!! I remember getting a little net stocking when we sat on Santa's lap at the dept. stores in the 1960's. When I look at the peppermint stick, It is so hard to believe after 50 years, it is still has color and has shrank just a little. HUGS!
