OH! I loved my pop out camper for Barbie. That photo brought back fond memories. I remember one beautiful dress. Always my favorite. And one of my Barbies reminded me of Mary Tyler Moore. We used to watch the MTM show together!

It's funny but my favorite Barbie memory is more about my Grandma than the Barbie. My Grandma had arthritis in her knees really bad and she was always getting after us kids for cracking our knuckles. We used to take the Barbie legs and bend them so they'd make the popping sound behind grandma. She's get after us and we'd giggle. She knew it was the dolls, but at the time we didn't know that.

I do remember getting a Barbie horse one year though. I'm not sure if it was really a Barbie horse though or just one the right size for a Barbie. I was like Winnies kids - I wanted a horse so bad!! My parents weren't like Winnie though. A horse is still on my "one day" list. My littlest sister was into the Barbie's though. I remember Skipper. And a dream house. I don't remember a camper though. It looks pretty cool though. When did it come out? Probably a bit before my time. Love the stories though. It's neat when generations can share the same cherished memories.

Marianne, thanks for sharing with us and Heather I am laughing out loud!!!! Barbie did have a Horse and I think it and the campers were from the 1970's. I will check my catalogs. I have so enjoyed reading everyone's Memories and what was your favorite and what makes you smile! This pic is the year I go my Skipper Dream Room and a Skipper! and we had that tin tree with the color Wheel!

Connie, my dad was career Army so we moved every 2 years...since we could hardly take anything except the basics... my Barbies were my constant companions... over the years Barbie along with my Girl Scout uniform disappeared... :>(
So I thoroughly enjoyed looking at yours... Thank you..
Oh and recently I found a (in great condition) Dream Date Barbie Game... 1960... whoot whoot!

I remember sitting on our neighbor kids cement driveway under a canopy and sewing clothes by hand for our dolls. I really wasn't into playing with the dolls. I just wanted to make the clothes for them. I can't say that I was good at it, I just enjoyed the process.

My birthday is Dec. 13th which is close to Christmas, so I can't recall whether or not it was on my birthday or Christmas that I received my favorite Barbie doll of all time, Glitter Hair Barbie. She was so rad looking with her huge palm tree earrings, I loved her. I even remember the way the glitter gel smelled. I liked her so much that I bought a NIB Glitter Hair Christie doll when I found it in an antique shop a few years ago. It was an impulse buy and I'll probably sell her, but a part of me has trouble letting go lol.

I also really liked the Barbie featured on the cover of a Barbie short story book I had. She's wearing this hot Christmas dress that I always wanted when I was little. I still remember it to this day.

The year I received the Barbie Dream House. I was 8. It was something that I had been asking for all year. It was 3 stories of pure pink and white bliss. I also got the Barbie Corvette that year too. It was Pink with an attached remote control. I was in sheer heaven that year.

Never remember having a Barbie but my girls had them and all those little accessories. I was always finding them in the strangest places. My oldest had the Barbie car.

I wasn't much of a barbie girl growing up. True to my farmgirl roots even then, I loved my Jane West doll!

She was such a independent strong woman. She was always saving my brother's G.I. Joe from danger!

Sadly she was lost some years ago...

I am too old for when the Barbi craze started. I didn't want any dolls I just wanted a horse and that is why I married my husband. He promised me a horse and a farm and all that stuff and I/we got it all. My kids (all girls) didn't want dolls either just hot wheels and ponies. Well my youngest wanted a Cabbage Patch doll. So no Barbi memories. Well actually I do. A little girl I baby sat---no day care then---had a Barbi and she told me the two bumps on her front were extra stomachs. I said where did you hear that and she said here Mom told her. It weirded me out.
