Hi, my name is Stacy and a friend of mine gave me a subscription to Mary Jane's Farm magazine a few years ago. I loved it and what MJF stands for and the sisterhood.
There are no chapters in Davenport and maybe someday there will be one...in the meantime I will keep reading and enjoying the website and gain inspiration from all you farm girls.

Welcome from New Jersey Stacy! This is a really fun forum. There is always something to do and lovely ladies to meet. I've been to Iowa once. It is so pretty there. Is Davenport really where the 'pull out' sofa was invented?

Hi Stacy,
I too am a wannabe farm girl. I have the foundest childhood memories visiting my Grandparent farm in Eugene, OR. At 80 he only raised a few cow for other people. I sure did enjoy helping my Grandpa feed them hay.

Hi Diane,
According to Wikipedia the term 'davenport' became a common term for a sofa like Kleenex has become for tissues. Good question though (I had to look it up myself).
