I'm beginning to realise I'm a seasonal farmgirl when it comes to being on this forum. wanted to stop in,see what's up.and share the latest doins. I've learned how to repair flutes! Purchased a repair tool kit for flutes a couple of years back and let myself get intimidated enough to where I was too chicken to try even tho I had aquired a flute needing work at a good price. Well, after listening to Denise Linn on Hay House radio I got the flute and kit out-and successfully repadded, adjusted springs, and got this flute playing again. One key was stuck & one wouldn't close. Dad is doing well and is ready to get prescription glasses-no new scar tissue or anything so we're grateful. And I became a Unitarian Universalist and have become a member of an online fellowship. We meet online early on monday mornings for an hour long service. Been reading a lot of Hay house authors and listening to Hay House radio a lot- currently reading Denise Linn, will be reading Alan Cohen, and one of my faves is Louise Hay. Learned how to stick weave and am crafting with those. And- a friend of my Dads gave me two banjo ukes that I get to refurbish (I do collect ukuleles and vintage sheet music for them) one of the two is a 1910 Stella banjo ukulele. Feelin blessed. In the meantime looking for flutes to refurb to resell online,as my business has not done well-am looking at shifting the business into more of a handcrafted music supply with refurbed by me instruments.

Hi Sherrie!

Glad to hear you are well and good to see ya back!

Neat that you can repair flutes. Long time ago, I worked at a music store once for a while. That is a lucrative skill you have there! Way to go.

Farmgirl hugs,
Nicole

Here's a musical idea--there is a group in the St. Louis area that makes their instruments from other people's junk. Can't think of the name of the group, will try to find it. I think they call themselves Greenstrum, or something like that. It's an interesting concept! What kind of programs do they have on Hay House radio? I just finished reading one of their books by Steven D. Farmer. It was very interesting.

Nice to see you Shellie! I think we all go through stages where we are absent here and there ( myself included lately)!
That's what's so great about our farmsisters, and this forum....we are always here for each other when you are able to return!
Hugs,

OMG thank you for the warm welcome back (again!) Flopped my driving test yesterday and am bummed. Now I have to get another permit, and do it all over again. Frustrating.
Nicole,it's a lucrative career? really? I felt that but then wondered if it really is. I'm bidding on a couple of flutes that need fixing to see how well I'll do at selling refurbished ones.
Cindy-would love to hear more about that group. And the Hay house radio programs are all about spiritual growth (not aimed at any particular path or tradition and self improvement, achieviing your goals, and so forth. I bet your author has a program as well. Go to http://www.hayhouseradio.com to see the list of programs there. I listened to Alan Cohen this morning and after yesterdays disappointment,I can't tell you how timely that program was for me. It was called "signs of your new life". Flute isn't quite done yet-and I'm ordering a replacement part so I can finish it up.
