I was wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of that smell the vaccum makes when the belt breaks? Happened earlier in the day , I ran over a nail. Removed it but the belt popped in two and left my clean smelling house with that awful burned smell. Hubby walked in and said "Do you smell something burning?" Duh. I sprayed airwick(I know not good), lit some candles and thought by the time supper was cooked it would go away. So far lingering still. Any suggestions? Thanks, Angela

Maybe running a fan out the door and opening a window on the opposite side of the house? I've had that burned smell here, too, and I don't remember how long it took to go away - but take heart - it will eventually leave, and, on the plus side - it's not something your husband will have to eat for dinner and pretend to like!!!

XOXO, Libbie

I hate when this happens. Some containers of baking soda left around helps. Open all the windows. I also crumble dried lavendar all over my carpet, leave to do some errands and vaccum when I return home. It gives the house a nice lavendar smell.
