Gosh I have many, but the first one that came to mind is a handmade pottery ornament my 34 year old daughter made in school at about age 8. It is of an angel. She tried to apply paint to make the eyes blues, but only did one. It looks like the angel has a black eye. We call her the fighting angel.....I love that one.

Mine is silly and fun, but I tend to lean towards the silly and fun.
Have you seen the "Elf on a Shelf" dude? THAT is my favorite childhood ornament, and now Vermont Country Store is selling exactly what I remember. Yippee!! We had several of these adorable little soft-sculpture elves with vinyl doll faces. Their arms were sewn together at the wrist (ouch!) so you could tuck their little legs up into the encircled arms and they looked like they were hugging their knees. Very happy looking little guys, and I am delighted to have replaced them with really good reproductions. |

My favorite one was a Silent Night ball that my mom gave me when I ventured out on my own. We had it on our tree throughout my childhood. One year our tree fell and the ornament was broken. I have searched for another, saw a couple on ebay, but people seemed to always outbid me. I will keep looking and searching and hopefully will find another to grace our tree.

Cindy I love those Pixies too!! I have one of my granny's from the 1960's. Judy, what is your favorite ornament? My Favorite is this one, My Holly made when she was 5. I took her to Ceramics class(in the 1970's) with me whenever she wanted to go. If she had a friend over playing dolls, or house, then she wasn't interested in going! LOL! She did win a 2nd place ribbon in her age group for this one! I pack it gently away each year, cause so many older ones, and ones she made got broken either from the Cat attacking the tree or the kids taking them off. LOL!

Connie...my favorite ornament is one that was given to my mom one year when she was in the hospital right before Christmas...ladies from a church gave them to the patients...it is a little green felt stocking filled with little goodies...don't know why it means so much to me...but I treasure it...also the things my son made in school when he was younger...
Hugs!

My husband and I get ornaments when we go someplace (which isn't very often since we milk cows). It's great because every time I put up the tree I get to remember where we've been and the great times we've had. A couple of my favorites are from Yellowstone and believe it or not the place we got our tree from. It's always a fun time trying to pick "the one"!

I feel the same as you girls. I guess that is why My Christmas tree is a Hodge- Podge like my house, memories! My neighbor, that I work for, Has a theme tree every year, it is beautiful to behold! for sure, Last year it was very Ornate Butterflies, But not for my house! This is my Granny's tree, 1964,she,like a lot of friends we knew, that had to have one of those Trees with the color wheel that year(she gave it away the next year) LOL! She had to go in the hospital after Thanksgiving and without her home, My Grandpaw did not finish the wall. She was sooooo happy to get back home and on her feet again, she didn't care. LOL! Our family loves this pic, and like me loves to tell the Wall story! LOL! I wish we still had the tree! Connie Imagine....#3392 |

Thank you Kelly! It was one of the Best Christmas for me! We didn't get much, but I was happy my Granny was ok! I remember laying on the floor(I was 6) watching the Color Wheel go around changing colors and how it made the tree so Shiny! Hugs!

Darlene, you are soooooooo right!! Hugs!! I never knew until I was grown, how poor we were, because my Granny taught us be thankful for everything! She would always say, Some people don't have food or a roof over their head. So I assumed that since we had both, we were okay!!
