Found this cute, little 1971 Sprite, 10 ft. trailer sitting in the yard of some folks up the Dolores River Valley in the mountains. Took a friend up on Thursday to see if was for sale and something I'd be interested in

It was for sale!
I was interested!!

Today, my hubby and I went up and checked it over and over and over . . . did I say over! These were the nicest folks to deal with. The trailer was kinda stuck down in the very thick grass, etc. and had a lot of stuff stored in it. I called the owners last night and told them we'd like to come and look it over again, wanting to look at the underside and tires and the inside too. I was concerned about being able to do that because of the situation.

Today, when we drove in the driveway, the trailer had been pulled out of where it was, sitting there all prim and proper for me to look at. Tires aired, EVERYTHING removed from the inside, door standing open . . "Come on in, CJ!"

I fell in love!
My hubby and I looked it over, asked questions . . . and traded ONLY $400 for the title and bill of sale. Yes, ONLY $400.

It needs very little of anything except cleaning. Mostly dead flies which I can deal with (that's what all the black specks are on the pics of the inside). I saw NO mouse poo or evidence of anything else nasty and ugly, NO evidence of leaks, etc. It is cute, adorable and I'm tickled all shades of pink!!!!

It now belongs to the "4872 Glamping Farmgirls" . . my daughter and me!
Cute, huh?!!

Not much work that is REQUIRED and I'm thankful for that. There is an issue of mismatched colors and wood textures in the cabinets and doors that I will probably do something about. I like eclectic . . . BUT . . .

I like that it is light colored inside and has wonderful windows!!! Anyone who has seen our suitcases and suitcases full of linens, including curtains of every description will know that I will just be making some selections from those treasures to outfit it with.

Gotta her home first (need temporary permit to get her on the highway) and all those dead flies dealt with. I'm also very pleased that cleanup will not be that dreaded process where things are gross and nasty. Yes, dead flies are icky, but they are part of this climate and high altitude. This trailer has been living in a yard at about 8500 ft. elevation in "my mountains".

I'll keep you updated! Pray for the permit and title process to go smoothly!
Thanks again!
CJ

WOW! How cool, CJ! How AWESOME is that?! You know, I scan our local Craigslist all the time for a glamping camper, but most of the time there are "wanted" ads, or ads for very huge campers... I can't get over all the wonderful deals you all are finding out there! I'm so excited for you! Have fun with your new camper, CJ & Robin! Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy! Hugs - Nini

Ran into a snag today . . . unable to get a temporary permit to pull her home with the paperwork I had. I won't get into the details of that.
Hubby and I sat in our van in town, totally stumped as to what to do. I continued to pray about the situation as I had been all along.

I called our neighbor . . . the friend who went with me on the initial "check it out" mission. Her hubby was off today, has a trailer and truck (crew cab)to pull it and everything we needed. I just asked him if he had a trailer that was not a horse trailer. He knew what I needed because he started talking about what he/they/we could do. He, my friend (his wife), their daughter, my hubby and I all loaded up drove up the river valley, loaded her up on the trailer, anchored her down and brought her home!

"REIVER'S REST" is home! Yup, yessiree! HOME! Now for a winter season project of sprucing up, giving some tender loving care, etc., etc.

Will post more pics too!!

She's all clean now! YAY!!!
I put the rock guard up this morning so there could be some beautiful Colorado sunshine come in while working . . . and washed that window too!

Now to do a little this and that . . . she needs curtains, even if they are temporary. And, need to put a few things out there to make her look loved. Going to try to do something to all the cupboard doors so that they are more attractive and coordinated.
Some things will wait until Birdie can sit there with me and we can come up with ideas together.

I'm just glad to have the cleaning done!!!
