How do you all keep track of your cell phones in the house? For me, I consider it as a mobile phone for when I am mobile as in out of the house. So at home it sits in the deep dark depths of my purse and I miss calls.
The way our house is laid out, there is no one good place to park the phone so I can hear it when it rings.
Wearing it has not been an option because most clips are meant for waistbands and I climb the walls with that thing poking in my side.
Can you tell I don't really like cell phones?
So my question to all of you: what do yo dow with your cell phones in the house if it is not you "main" line i.e. you still have a land line?
Any suggestions on how to tote it around, where to keep it, whatever to do in order to hear the bleepity bleep thing in the house?
Thanks! |

I carry mine in a pocket, most of my pants, shorts, housedresses, and aprons have pockets. Otherwise, I leave it on the table by my recliner. Yes, I don't get there in time to answer sometimes, but I can always check for messages and call back.

We still have a land line so that is where most of my calls come. However, I leave my cell phone on the end of our big island counter in the kitchen and it's near the charge cord and outlet. I do receive some calls and lots of texts. My hubby has a little hanging basket on the wall in the utility room just above the outlet for his charge cord and that is where his is when it's not in his pocket. The cord reaches the basket and he can put it on to charge there. CJ

I am just like Kathryn...either I always have it in my jeans pocket, or it is plugged into the charger right next to my recliner. I gave up land line's years ago...but I do realize some people still do use them. Just not me or anyone I know in this area.

I have no land line. Mine is charging all the time as I don't want a dead battery in an emergency. I leave mine on the kitchen table or near my TV which is generally off during the day. Or it's in my back pocket. My house is very small so I can hear it from anywhere except my purse. Don't keep it in your bra. There's a thought. That the low levels of radiation might lead to breast cancer.

I usually leave mine plugged in right by the landline. we don't get cell signal where we live, but occasionally a text will sneak through. So everyone knows to call the landline to get a hold of me.
I also refuse to be a slave to the telephone. So if it rings or blings.......so what. I will not stop what I am doing to run for a telephone. Too many people become addicted to their cell phones and are slaves to every little text coming through.
Thanks Arttie |

Ladies,
Thanks for your suggestions!
I have to say I had not thought of keeping it in my bra....except that I often have on someone with no pockets but I almost always have on a bra! The radiation thing needs to be considers though, along with the size of my phone and the size of my bra - ha!!
Princesspatches advice spoke to me: don't be a slave to the phone. Anyone who knows me well and would really need to get I touch with me knows to ring my old fashioned land line. The cell phone messages can be answered a little bit later - no need to dive for that ringing device :) |
