I thought this might be a fun topic. When I attend craft fairs, I am always looking for wood signs with neat, unique sayings on them. You know, the vinyl sayings....love 'em! I am also always looking for homemade hot pads...another obsession...I refuse to use store bought ones.
What do you buy when you go to craft fairs?

I very rarely buy, I usually look for ideas for things I can make myself, but, I do buy unique chicken statues/shelf sitters/pictures etc...

Tina, I do the same thing!! Sometimes it's hard to buy something when your pretty sure that you can make it yourself!! Sad thing is though, I usually don't make it and I am left with nothing! :) My husband would think that's a good thing!

I'm like Tina - I very rarely buy, either. I like special, one-of-a-kind, unique things. It's kind of like when I see it, I know, and it's definitely coming home with me! Most of the time I go for the inspiration. Like Teresa said, if I think I can make it myself, I'm certainly not going to spend the money. Although when I do spend money, like Grace, I usually end up buying gifts for other people. :) Hugs - Nini

nini just wrote my reply! I haven't gone to any for a few years...not sure why....sometimes they are just too crowded for my liking!
last year; we went to the Christmas Connection in Cleveland at the IX Center (huge place)..I was kindof disappointed as it was so much commercial stuff....I did buy lil ornaments that I couldn't make and got some ideas...

I do not go to craft fairs as much as I want to because my husband has a social phobia and I need him to drive sometimes. I buy stuff I like and take it home to figure out how to make it myself and put my own spin on it.

I don't buy much either, but I love to look for ideas too. I do keep an eye out for cow things though. I also love to look at aprons! If I ever strike it rich I think I'll have one for every day of the year. They're becoming my new obsession!

I like to buy autumn decorations, glass pumpkins, anything that is going to make a unique gift for someone. Last year I bought an adorable apron for my 9 year old niece. It had a matching hot pad with it. It was beautifully made and surpassed anything I had seen in a store.

Like most of you, I look for ideas! Sometimes I will pick up a pretty vintage piece or something I don't know how to make (metal jewelry, for example).

My daughter sells homemade cat toys at our local craft fair- it's a big one. I end up walking around during the day scoping out new ideas too. I do like to buy homemade soaps and primitive dolls. I do not like goingt to fairs with commercial items. It bums me out.

I buy soaps, hand thrown pottery, and jewelry. And, like everyone else, I buy items to use as patterns to make my own.

Went to a country craft fair today called JunkOctoberfest. It was so cool. There was mixture of everything from old rusty metal, huge letters cut out of corrogated metal, keys, jewelry, furniture, jadite, books, you name it, they had it. I wish there could be one every month. I bought jadite, 50s glass refrigerator dish, herb magazines, small metal keys, vitage bingo cards for card making, a very cool emerald green 50s glass serving gray, and a garden basket. I was in my element.

Anyone have sites they watch for the newest and hottest items for craft fairs? I am always looking the new things to make.
