Awhile back one of our pullets became broody---wanting to set on eggs---and we have no rooster. I threw her off--put her outside--tried everything I could think of but to no avail. Then one of the farmgals on this forum suggested separating her nd putting her in a cage and that might work. Boy did it. She stayed in the rabbit hutch for 3 days and when I put her back with the rest of the hens--no broodiness left. Now another hen decided to nest sit for awhile and I did the same thing and after only one day she wanted to be back laying eggs. So who's ever Idea that was I am here to tell you that it works. Thank you!!!
