Sharon, I am grabbing my sweater, meet ya''ll at the cabin! That Susan Branch book is sooooo expensive, even when you can find it! I am keeping an eye out everywhere for it! Starting to feel and look like Fall here, Some leaves are drifting down, and the temps are dropping overnight tonight to the 50's with highs in the low 70's. Not a frost, But we will take it! Posted this pic on the other forum, but for me ,worth seeing again! Hugs!

Connie, you find THE BEST pics to share with your Autumn loving sisters Thanks so much for sharing!

I finally decorated for Fall. I can't believe that it took me so long especially since I sparked the decorating question in August! I had to finish canning and freezing first :) Now the house is decorated and I can relax (well, except for horseradish harvesting soon!) I will post pics soon! Last night we had Hot Caramel Apple Cider, yum!

I'm with Sharon, Connie - WOW!!! AWESOME!

Girls - I'm so sorry! STILL recuperating from this flu. Not fun. Please bear with me. Although this isn't exactly what I had in mind to share with you when Sharon and I started planning our gathering, here are a few pics to show you the little glimpses of our little autumnal celebration here at home:

A gift from my hubby picked up at the Renaissance Festival... He knows I don't like spiders, but THIS kind of spider I really love!!!

A delightful treat from Etsy... SO adorable! The picture doesn't do it justice!

One of my Cinderella pumpkins that grew over the fence into my neighbor's yard - he's such a good sport! :)

My family's cheerful greeting on the "rustic" soaking-rain-weathered back door steps - we'll get to painting the steps soon! One chore at a time! :)

These berries are growing in the wisteria vines with a few baby pumpkins... What ARE they???

Where the birds have been retreating from the unusually warm autumn sun... Yes! Those are pumpkin vines in them thar wisterias! We even have baby pumpkins growing up high in there!

The unexpected pumpkin thriving in my raised bed!

Two more from my neighbor's yard... Poor guy... He was so excited, thinking he was harboring delicious melons instead! LOL!

Like I said, this is NOT what I had planned for our gathering at all - I'm sorry! Please bear with me. The flu really has wiped me out. I'll be decorating, baking and celebrating more with you all soon! I've missed you all so much!

Hugs and love and autumn blessings -

Nini

Hey Nini! Good to see you! No worries, we are just glad that you are on the mend!

I love your decorations, the welcome sign with the apples and even the spider :) The little house is so sweet too! I grew Cinderellas too.
Our seedlings didn't do too good so I picked up some Big Max pumpkin plants and then added some Cinderella seed to the garden so we got a mix :) We got quite a few but unfortunately we picked them too soon (fear of frost) so they all did not ripen.

A couple of pics of our Autumn Decor:

Oh and I made these rolls for church for our Pot-bless today:

The recipe is here:

Wonder which book Anne says that in Connie? Have read them all and don't recall that quote. Love the movies the made too!

I am going to be working on my Mom and grandma's combined Spaghetti sauce recipe tomorrow so more canning.

I went to Michael's yesterday and found a really pretty centerpiece. I priced all the pieces separately and it was cheaper to buy all made up. I think because it was on sale. It is a Cornicopia. (sp?) My dad call it a Horn of Plenty. :)

I also went to the Dollar store and they had this really pretty runner for my table. I have been rearranging the decorations already. [:/] I also found a cute little scarecrow so he is in a vase with some of my flowers. I had a crow in there but he was a bit bigger so I moved him to the front porch with a bucket of flowers and 2 small straw bales. I will try to get some pictures when I finish with canning the spaghetti sauce.
Love the photos everyone is sharing. Especially the ones of your decorated homes. So pretty and creative.

Dallas Arboretum

Beautiful weather today. 86* and sunny. Showers the last couple of weeks are keeping Texas green in October.

The Dallas Arboretum is an awesome place to visit. I had not seen the pumpkins display. A friend sent the picture to me via her FB page. Every season thousands of flowers are planted. In Spring the gardens are alive with the colors of bulbs. A beautiful place.
