Mix two tablespoons of cornstarch with a pint of cold water and shake it up well in a spray bottle - just use it like you would regular spray starch. It works really well - but watch out for overspraying on dark or black clothing; in fact, I'd spray it on the *inside* of darker laundry and then iron the right side.

Thanks, Libbie! I do a lot of ironing, and my can of starch always clogs up when it is halfway to empty, so this sounds like a much better idea, all the way around.
How long will this last; any worries about it turning sour, etc?

Thanks for this tip Libbie. DH has to wear a lot of dress shirts for his job and I'm forever ironing. I'll give this a try!

This is a great tip Libbie, thank you! My daughter wears a white paramedic uniform shirt and obviously they are washed after every wear. After a while they are soft and comfy, but they don't look very smart and she insists on it. She will love this. I like this as it's one more way to eliminate an aerosol product. I'm so glad this is helpful! I've been using it on my ironing lately, and I love it. I'm not sure if it will go "bad" after a while - I'd just make sure it looks and smells OK - if not, just dump it and make another batch!
