My son (11 yrs old) would like to learn to knit, but he's wondering what he can learn to make, other than just the fact of knitting. . .he's just beginning, but thinking ahead :) -- it's easy for me to come up with ideas for his sisters to make when starting, like headbands, etc. but how about a boy?

Thanks for ideas!

Slouchy hats. All the boys are wearing them. My son loves them. And flip-top mittens.

My son won't knit them for himself, but is always there the give me great ideas of what he wants.

What about simple squares of his favorite colors then put together for a warm afghan!

Loving these ideas! My 6 yo son wants to learn as well. He has already used a circle loom to make a hat for his sister. Next he wants to use an oblong loom to knit socks. After than, we will start with other projects.

He could always make something for someone else as a gift, or to donate. Hats and scarves would be easy. A dish cloth, to learn on?

slippers. my adult boys & my grandsons like to wear the slippers I knit for them. They always let me know when they've worn out a pair & need new ones.
