I've been reading the chicken blogs in preparedness for when I was able to come across a hen or a coop or both-well, I got both! Introducing BettyWhite (yes, you have to say her whole name lol) She was left in the care of some neighbors of the former owner, and when he couldn't come for her, they had to rehome her. She's going to need some care and attention, but I'm sure she will thrive. She's already laid her first egg!

Thanks, Ladies!
I know the shells are supposed to set, but apparently her eggs are wicked thin in the shell department-or so I was told. Any suggestions besides oyster shells to her feed?
Tina! She did make me think of Foghorn Leghorn, but a dainty version lol I didn't think about her being lonely? She's so afraid right now, I didn't want to introduce anything new, but if you think a buddy would be best, I will look into it for sure. I've even seen them listed for adoption at the shelter!
Any advice is always welcome!

Oyster shell, egg shells and a higher protein feed will all help with shell hardness

Thanks, Bradee! I did get her some oyster shell, but so far, they are still soft-shelled eggs! It's only been @ two weeks since i've had her, so it might just take some time.... I hope :/
