In the next few days we shall see if our two power outages due to storms in the last couple weeks (once two hours, the other six hours) will affect the eggs we have in the incubator. I did candle one egg the day after all the outages and there was still movement inside so I'm hoping that means we are good to go! Chicklets should hatch out on the 5th - keep your fingers crossed!

When I lived in the rural South, we had regular outages. I would cover the incubator (40 egg size) with a blanket to keep in whatever warmth there was. It worked! But be sure to take the blanket off again when the power comes back on.

Thanks Lora and Melina - hoping to be able to report a successful hatch sometime tomorrow!
