NEWS REPORTS SAY THAT 19 FIREFIGHTERS HAVE BEEN KILLED NEAR PHOENIX AZ!

I've been brought to tears this morning when hearing this report. It is so hard to believe that those who give their lives to save others have to lose their life in such a horrific manner.

We had special prayer at our church Sunday morning for the incredible happenings concerning the fires out west. So sad to hear this most recent report.

Please pray for our farm sisters who live in the western USA who are surrounded by fire and smoke. Let us who know the power of prayer send up and earnest pray to the Lord that rain will come to put out the fires, keep those safe who are fighting the fires, for families to be protected and that temperatures will drop in the western USA.

Hugs!

Judy

My daughter sent me a text last night (she lives in Phoenix) about the firefighters in the Yarnell fire. It just is sooooo heartbreaking!!

I told her it brings back floods of memories of the July 6, 1994 wildfire on Storm King Mountain near Glenwood Springs, Colorado that killed 14 firefighters. We were out in our RV at the time and in a couple camping locations there was smoke and ash floating into the campground.

And then, ELEVEN days after that horrific fire, our house and the wooded area around it burned down . . . in an arson fire!

We are just hurting for these families and praying for them and EVERYONE else working in these extreme situations! It is just so unnerving!
We have been surrounded by the smoke from the Papoose/West Fork Complex fire in south central Colorado and there is nothing like the SMELL of a fire and the SMOKE to trigger everything in my hubby and me that makes us EDGY . . . after we had to stand and watch our house and our woods be destroyed. Fire is soooooooo powerful!!!! So many have suffered such great loss!

So, we are praying! For relief from the horrible heat, dryness and burning of the entire west and southwest of our great country!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS!

My husband and I are grieving the loss of these 19 hero's, my husband has fought many fires with these fire fighters and knew many of them. So the loss hurts my husband so much as these were his friends and fellow fire fighters. You see my husband is a helicopter wildland fire fighter and he would have been at this fire if he were not still recuperating from his spinal surgery as he works for a helicopter company out of Glendale AZ.
Our thoughts, prayers and hearts go out to the families of these wonderful, dedicated men, my husband Tom will grieve this loss for a very long time. And if and when he goes back to fighting fires in AZ with his company he will miss seeing the faces of these very dear and special friends.
Hugs,
Debbie

Debbie,
I thought of Tom when I heard this news and figured he probably did know many of them and work with them. It just hurts! I'll continue to pray for you too! I'm SOOOOOOOO glad we were able to chat on the phone yesterday!
Give Tom a hug for me . . . I'm grateful he is home and recuperating!

CJ and Debbie,

I know each of the farm girls are in their own locations across the US. We can't be there physically for support but we can be in thoughts and prayers. I want you all to know that there isn't a day goes by that I don't have everything you are facing with the heat...dry weather...fires and threats of fires on my heart and mind. I requested prayer at church Sunday morning for all of things going on in your area. Please know that we are here for both of you...in thought and definitely in prayer.

Hugs to both of you!

Judy

my heart jumped out of my chest when I heard that fighters were killed, my son leads a hotshot crew, (hes out of Oregon and currently in Co.), until I heard that they were out of Prescott, Az, then I cried in releif and with extreme sorrow for the families and friends of these hero's we lost, all firefighters belong to one giant family, and we all mourn losses like these...

Oh Tina, I am so happy your son is safe. I will keep him in my heart, thoughts and prayers while he fights fires for us in Co. Thank him for us from the Fischer Family, he is indeed our hero, as all fire fighters are.
Hugs,
Debbie

I could not believe it when I read the news this morning. I am mourning the loss of the 19 hero's we lost in that wildfire and praying for their families. It really is just unfathomable to me.
Debbie and Tina, I am grateful to hear that your loved ones are safe.
Thank you to all who risk their lives to keep the rest of us safe. We are so blessed to have each and everyone of you.

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13. Their love and valor are immeasurable and will never ever be forgotten, will always be honored. They are true saints and heroes, and I am sure that the Lord has very special mansions prepared for them in Heaven (cf John 14:2). God bless and rest their souls, and help their families, loved ones, and communities to cope with their loss. When there are no words, there is only love.

We are a blessed nation to have so many loving, caring, brave men and women of valor taking care of us. Let us never, ever take them - or their families - for granted. Let us never, ever forget.

Much love,

Nini

Nini,

What a beautiful and loving word to all of those struck by this horrible tragedy. We truly are blessed to have so many kind, giving, and loving people as we do here in the US. Even though we can't understand why things like this happen...we have to trust God that His hand is on all of those involved and their families. Continual thoughts and prayers to all.

Hugs!

Judy

I've been away for a bit, but I want to add that this had been such a hard thing...so much devastation this year due to wildfires. Tina and Debbie, so glad that you loved ones are safe. Praying for the families and community of the 19 fire fighters.
