This morning I removed the hoop house from the tomatoes. Hopefully we will not have hail. We have had 3 days of wonderful gentle rain, but it will be over 100 by Friday, and I didn't want to fry the tomatoes and eggplant. The garden of my dreams is doing well, except for quail eating peas and cabbage and anything else they fancy. I have tried cd's hanging from hooks, pinwheels, talk radio, next I will try a scare crow. The birds have even eaten nasturtiums. But stuff is growing pretty fast, if the leaves get big enough they seem to leave them alone.
Greetings from the morning side of the hill. |
