I introduced Violet to the herb beds a few weeks ago, urging her to touch, smell and even taste. Now we can't keep her out! A few of the faces she's making in these pics are too funny--must be something rather pungent!

Oh so cute this is. Thanks so much for sharing. It really is wonderful to have children involved in the gardening, that way they are so willing to taste everything.

I'm glad you girls enjoyed them--I could help but crack up at her little face. I showed her some other edibles in the yard that I remember from being small (those little "heart clovers" that are so sour!?) and she loves trying to find them to forage and eat.
I'm very blessed with a little one who loves dirt and all things grown from it. Guess her name wasn't ill thought whatsoever!

Jonni, that reminds me of when my mom married my stepdad, & his parents lived in a duplex in Ludlow KY, in a shotgun style house. His dad had a garden in the small backyard, that encompassed the neighbor's yard as well. I viewed it as the most spacious garden ever. Although I was older than Violet, (8), I remember distinctly eating parsley and wondering WHY it was discarded from dinner plates. I could eat that stuff forever. & whenever I do, I think of Chester's garden. So special that Violet is picking & tasting at a young age.. & PS I remember eating those heart shaped clovers.. We called it "sour grass"

Lisa, that's a great story--wonderful images. Having danced my whole childhood in Ludlow, I can see it with my mind's eye.
Parsley! Yum! Which reminds me--my splurge of the season was this awesome hand soap made by Mrs. Meyer Clean Day in Parsley!!! It's divine and is totally $2.99 worth!!!!
She's a crack up. I love that third one down.
