Hi girls!

So, I just had to laugh. My son's back at work full time for the summer. On his break, he usually texts me to fill me in on what he's up to and ask how I'm doing - pretty sweet kid, my son is. But today, my reply sounded a lot like a country song...

"Break time.

How are you?""

"Ok.

Weeded the garden.

Downloaded some music

While I drank my cold coffee.

Prayed my Rosary

While I colored my hair.

Started the laundry.

Then vacuumed all the rice

That fell out of the candleholder

As it crashed to the floor

When I moved the coffee table

To dig out your dirty socks.

Got mad.

Said a few choice words.

Asked God to forgive me

And bless you.

Same old same old.

Just another day in paradise.

Sounds like a country song, huh?"

"Yeah.

All they're listening to is country music.

Their radio has an iPod dock.

I need an iPod so

I can get some Vitamin Rock."

"I'm playing the world's smallest violin for ya, buddy."

"Hah."

<pause>

"That was a hint for you."

"Hah."

"That was a hint for YOU."

"Hahah funny."

"So what are you doing today?"

"A lot.

Pick me up <after work>

And I'll tell you aaall about it.

;)"

Same old same old.

Just another day in Paradise.

Sounds like a country song, huh? ;)

Is your day sounding like a country song today? What are YOUR lyrics?

Thanks, Marlee. It made me laugh. We have so many conversations like that - you'd think the boy would LOVE country music! LOL!

That is too funny....I read back my texts from my 15 yr. old daughter from the last week and they go like this:

Can you pick me up?

On my way.

Can you pick me up?

Leaving now.

Can you get me?

Yep.

Can you pick me up?

Okay. Leaving now.

Are you ready to be picked up?

IDK

LOL! I know... I haven't caved to giving him his iPod back, but he's wearing me down... Guess that'll be song #2 on the album!!! LOL!

Anyone else want to share your song??? We'd love to hear it!

Love this thread!

My days go by like a country song, but when I checked my texts they seemed a little boring. All about picking up the grandkids and things like...
Can you sit for us on Friday?

Sure, what time?

Aout 5:30, and bring dinner for the little ones, okay?

Yep, will do. See you then.

We are on our way to you! Kids asleep?

Yes, they are all down. It was a good night. Ruth Ann ate three bowls of chili!
