When I was a little girl, I had no time for the cake-I would only eat the icing. And then I discovered my cousin, Marie, made the most amazing chocolate bundt cake, with a thin layer of cream cheese and chocolate chips on the bottom-kind of like a cheesecake baked in. From there, my obsession with bundt cakes grew to a huge selection of Nordicware pans and lots of flavor ideas.

If you too are a bundt cake lover, then maybe you would like to participate in a bundt cake swap?

If you would like to give and receive a bundt cake of your own, please post your intent by June 15th and be ready to ship out by the 30th. Please be sure to include the recipe for your recipient!

If you don't want to actually do the baking, but would like to still participate, please feel free to post your favorite bundt cake recipe! (please post those that you yourself have made, no pulling a Martha ;)

This is my first swap, so I hope to share some bundt-love!

I have a great apple cake recipe that I can swap..It is so hot here in Alabama, shipping food is not a good idea especially in the summer.. Smiles

I love bundt cakes too and have some great recipes, however, I don't think I could ship one from here in California either. It's been 90+ degrees :( If you do just a recipe swap, I could do it.

Good point, ladies! It's only just starting to warm up here. We could do an actual cake swap at a later date, but I would love some terrific recipes to try. Would you like to actually send the recipes along in a card, or post them here for all to see? Then when we have the opportunity to try them out, we can post pics-like a virtual cake swap.

As I said, this is my first swap, so all ideas and suggestions are welcome!

Thank you both for responding,

C

I think the recipes done either way is a great idea...as late Spring and Summer heat would be a bad time to ship the cakes. Once again...sharing the bundt cake recipe is a great idea!

Hugs!

Why not just send a recipe card to each farmgirl that signs up and then we will all have a great selection....Smiles

Terrific-our own little FG collection of bundt recipes. I will wait until the 15th to see if anyone else is interested in doing a recipe swap, rather than a proper cake-maybe others had thought better of that too. I'll collect the recipes, add my own, then mail out a complete collection to those who have contributed recipes.

This is so exciting-it's like when I received my pen pal in French class ;)

Sign me up please. I like bundt cakes. No frosting needed. I like my cake naked!

Please sign me up. I just love collecting recipes. Love Bundt cakes. Thanks, this seems more reasonable than shipping a cake in hot weather.

I love this idea... however I don't have any bundt cake recipes. I have an amazing strawberry jam cake recipe that was my grandmother's. Can I still play or does it have to be bundt?

Hi Sarah!

Do you think your recipe would take the bundt shape? If so, then by all means! Maybe you can de-construct the recipe itself, so there is a stawberry layer? Oooooh ;)

I may try and make it into a bundt this weekend and see what happens. :0) I don't know if I can get it together quick enough to sign up by the 15th though, so count me out on this one. I will keep my eye out for other recipe swaps, I just love this idea!

OK ladies, it looks like we are going to have a few recipes to add to our repertoire!

Please email me your name and address and your recipe. Add any remarks about your recipe-is it a family recipe passed down? When is your favorite time to serve it? Things like that. And watch your mail! I'll let you know when your recipe cards are on their way.

Thanks so much for participating in my first swap!

C, I just sent you an email with my recipe and address info as well. Thanks for putting this together...can't wait to get the recipes!

Just by chance I was shopping yesterday in nearby Walnut Creek, about 10 minutes away from us, and came upon a store called "Nothing Bundt Cakes"...they sell only bundt cakes, in a few different sizes. I bought raspberry lemon for me, chocolate chocolate chip for my husband and red velvet for my daughter (all in the mini sizes which were still huge to me :) They were good, but I'll bet our farmgirl bundt cakes will be yummier!
