I had a chicken going crazy in the back yard. so of course I run out there to chase away whatever is bothering her. This is what I found....

do not touch and try to stay as far away as possible so mama will come back and get her/him, besides you don't want to tangle with mama...

Oh. I know not to touch him. I took a quick picture and we left. Mama didn't go to far. They live in our backyard and don't wander too far away.

How neat! I expect to see "our" deer with a baby in tow soon too. She comes up to munch in our yard south of the house most evenings while I'm closing up the chicken coop.

Awwwww! He is darling. My Windy Pines cousin had a little fawn in her pasture the other day. She had to walk past it as she was working on the fence.

Thanks for the beautiful pictures!

Love the baby deer!!! When my husband bushoged this past weekend I always walk in front to check for baby deer. They will not move and many people will run over them. We had 2 of them sleeping so my hubby didn't mow that area. I am so glad we checked. We have lots of deer where we live and right now there are little babies everywhere. They truly are the cutest ever.

Oh how cute! I've never been that close to one! We watched a mama and baby cross the field a few days ago, but they were so far away all you could really see was flashes of white as it ran to keep up with mama.
