I have been reading MaryJanesFarm for a couple of years now and am so excited to become a member of the on-line community.

I live in rural Alabama on a small lake lot and I planted a small garden this year, very excited to see how it goes.

So excited to be here.

Blessings - Kristi

Welcome Kristina! I've been on board for a little over a week, and am really enjoying what I'm finding here--smart, energetic people who get it when it comes to dirt under our fingernails and great ideas about how to live this farmgirl life, wherever we call "home".

Your lake lot sounds wonderful...that's one thing I wish for, is to be near a big body of water. We have a creek, though--no complaints about that!

Enjoy getting to know this wonderful group of people.

Liz

Welcome Kristi! I'm sure you will find MJF a great place to chat with so many wonderful women. Glad you're here. What did you plant this year? I am still waiting for it to be warm enough here -- I think we might finally be past the snow. Hopefully.

We can do it!

Thank you all, I feel like part of the family alreaady.

Jody - I live alone and planted a small garden. I included: yellow squash, 3 types of tomatoes, okra, eggplant, 4 types of peppers, cilantro, rosemary, basil and mint. I am so excited about it that I have started looking at another bed and what I might put in it this fall.

Sounds wonderful, Kristina. You might be doing some canning with all that, eh? I have not ever tried to grow okra although I should because I truly love it! We usually plant zuchini and tomatoes and lots of herbs, but I'm not sure what direction I want to go this year. I'm feeling like I want to try new stuff. Pumpkins might be fun, and build a bean pole and grow beans. A fall garden sounds great -- what will you plant there?

We can do it!
