Although I have 2 floor looms and too many tapestry looms to count, I am working with weaving as a meditative/prayer process. Weaving for the sake of being in the moment and bringing intent or focus to the piece I'm doing. Things like prayer flags that I hang outside or mandala's woven on hula hoops or wreath forms.
Anyone else weave and experience this kind of peace?
Hopefully my very busy farming cousin, Windy Pines (Michele) can answer this for you. Michele spins her own wool from her two sheep, Jack and Jill. She also dyes it with her own plants! Quite the busy farmer, but maybe she'll take time out to see this.
Enjoy your weaving! It's not often one can find something that gives them such peaceful bliss! Dawn in IL
I weave, but so far have only weaved rugs. Weaving a prayer piece sounds nice. I kind of know what you mean though, I make my rugs for our sauna, a place where I feel peace. The sauna not only cleans the body it cleans the soul and so when I weave I guess I'm thinking about where it's going. If that makes any sense?
