Ladies, I will share my college research paper (Victory Gardens in the 21st Century) as soon as it is finished but in the meantime I found a WWII handbook on victory gardens I thought I would share. Some things never age.
it can be downloaded as a PDF, I think everyone should be able to read it.

Hi Judy,

I just read your paper. Fantastic! I've been doing some research on starting a "victory garden" for our church. I'm glad I came across your paper, it is encouraging to be reminded how important gardening is to humanity. There is certainly a movement in this country to have fresh, local food. Let us know what your professor thought of your paper. It deserves an A!

I am trying to be the person my dogs think I am.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Judy,

Thanks for sharing your paper. I enjoyed how you summarized the history of urban gardening and then made it relevant for today. Urban gardening has become an interest of mine, now that I have moved from the country, with acres of land, to a suburb of a large city and a quarter acre of land. Glad you contributed to the cause by posting your paper.

O, a trouble's a ton or a trouble's an ounce,
Or a trouble is what you make it!
And it isn't the fact that you're hurt that counts,
But only--how did you take it?
