Gals, for those of you who know Miss Wilma, who was featured in Mary Jane's Life Keeping book, and has been a longtime fixture on this forum, I wanted you to keep her in your prayers. She lost both her dear father and mother within weeks of one another. Earl and Olive, married as a very young couple in London, Kentucky, raised Wilma and her siblings and were never apart until the very end of their lives when they had to live in separate care facilities. Earl was a mule trader and Wilma learned her wiley sales skills from him and her mother could sew a button on an ants coat to perfection. "Mommy" and "Daddy" were very precious to Wilma and I have had the pleasure to meet them and spend time with them talking and learning on many occasions.

Please, if you would, pray for the family. Losing your parents is never easy at any age.

Please pass along love and comfort and sympathy if you see her Jonni. I'm saying a prayer and wishing peace in knowing that her mama and papa lived a good long life and had such a wonderful daughter as she. Blessings

Ah, Miss Wilma. I ran across her address just last week. It must have been an omen to write her. I still have the dress form she made for me. I hope she finds peace and joy in remembering her beloved parents. MB

I'm just grateful I got to meet them both--apparently, Pawpaw Earl was a big fan of my violet jelly and I would send several down with Wilma when we met each month at Burlington Antique show. Makes me sad to think that he won't be eating up a storm like these years past.

Olive taught me many things without even trying. I never saw that little lady sit down once. From 6 am until they literally fell asleep next to one another in recliners, she waited on her husband and tended to him, and urged him, and helped him and showed that love that women from another generation showed. I know that she is probably in a happier place, knowing she can be with him now. Even though they weren't my grandparents, it saddened me to know they were separate at the end of their lives. It's one of those things--we can't have it the way we want it all the time, but you hope that a couple together as long as they were could live together until they simply didn't anymore. Something I really dread thinking of and have seen too many times. Anyway, she is on my mind and heart. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

I will keep Miss Wilma and her family in my prayers, losing one beloved parent is not easy but two so close together is very difficult. But, they are still together they did not want to be without each other every, what a love story.
Hugs,
