Good evening everyone,
and Good it is. Shaina and her mom are home! They arrived Sunday night but her mom did not let anyone know because Shaina is still fragile and she did not want people coming to visit. I think she needed to unstress enough just by sleeping in her own bed. Everything in the house had to be super clean and Shaina has a new mattress and box spring.
I took the bracelet for Kaylee over tonight and spoke to her dad a little. They are all so happy and so relieved to be home. Shaina will have to go to the doctor in Burlington once a week and back to Boston once a week for the foreseeable future. He did not know how long. He said if she gets a fever they will probably have to go stay in Boston again.
So far so good. Keep the prayers and spirit animals working for Shaina. You all are wonderful.

Thank God for such wonderful news. I'll continue to pray for her strength and health. I have a goodie package for the family ready to go too. Hopefully it'll be a nice surprise for them. There's nothing like the feeling of sleeping in your own bed after being away for a while. Thanks for the update Holly.

What wonderful news...thank you so much for letting us know...so many prayers have been said for Shaina and her family. We all pray that God will continue to heal her and that she won't have to be hospitalized again...

Good evening everyone,
Shaina and her mom went to Boston on Monday for their weekly visit. Shaina had her ng tube removed. She must be eating enough now that she does not need it. Slow but good progress I believe. Keep all of the good wishes flowing.

Oh I am so glad Shaina is now at home and with her family where she probably will heal better being she where she is happiest. My prayers continue for her healing and eating better and for being all together with the family again, and back in her own bed.

Good evening everyone,
Shaina is doing better now that the ng tube is out. She skyped with her class today something she refused to do when she had the ng tube. She is still on an IV drip at night because she is not drinking enough during the day and needs to flush her kidneys. She has a doctor's appointment tomorrow here in Vermont.

Good evening everyone,
Shaina is making slow progress toward health. Her hematocrit is rising so she is not needing a blood transfusion right now as had been considered two weeks ago.
She and her family went to the high school football game for a short while on Friday. She was able to see some of her friends. They tried to keep a circle of space around her so sick people could not get close.
I saw her mom and sister at the store last week. We hugged and their spirits are up and continue to be hopeful.

Hello,
Shaina is hanging in there. Her mom says that tomorrow they will go to Boston and the doctor is talking about reducing Shaina's immune suppressant that she has been on while K bone marrow grows in her. So far so good. Now the new bone marrow is going to be given a chance to take over her immunity. Shaina is 100 days out from her transplant.

Shaina had a very good report at the doctors. She was taken off one of her rejection drugs. She is not feeling well in her belly but the doctor is not worrying about it.
