Ok, all you upcyclers, and recyclers, I need ideas on ways to use the wooden axles from DH's great-grandparents covered wagon, ca, 1860. They are a little weathered since we rescued them from under an old granary. We are building a new front porch and I would like to use them. I don't want to use them as porch posts, I have seen that done, but as some decor item. Help!
Greetings from the morning side of the hill. |

After I posted I thought of using them as part of the frame for a swing. But benches might be an idea. Thanks CJ

end posts for an arbor of some kind, we grow birdhouse gourds every year and give them to the elementary school all ready drilled and cleaned, so the kids can decorate them and take them home, been a big hit for years, and the vines make great shade...

Tina! I love that idea!!!!! The school art teacher must have loved the gourds. Even a music teacher could have made use of the gourds! Hugs to you. Marly
