I'm going to put this here, and in the Garden Gate forum, too, and will gladly share answers.

If anyone knows this, it's a farmgirl!

I'm making these really cute plant markers from paint stir sticks for our Master Gardener Open House and Plant Sale in Mid-May. They are so cute, and I thought they'd be a really great way to use up all those little 50-cent bottles of acrylic paint I have floating around in my stash. Because they will be in a garden, I want to be sure to protect them from the elements.

However...

I also don't want to poison someone's garden with nasty chemicals leaching from a polyurethane (or worse).

Does anyone know a brand of sealer that would protect these little cuties from the elements but won't turn their garden into a toxic waste dump?

Thanks!

Wife of terrific hubby and mom to 2 teenagers, 2 bunnies, 2 geriatric goldfish, and the best dog in the world!
