I bought a treadle sewing machine yesterday. It is beautiful and seems to be in great shape. My mechanic friend when over it, oiled and cleaned it. The only issue is I cannot figure out how to get the upper thread to pick up the bobbin thread. It's a Ruby brand. Has the "long" bobbin and shuttle.
Anyone have this kind? Or hopefully *fingers crossed* a manual? I would be happy to pay for copies and postage if you do. =)

I have 2 treadles and LOVE them! they sew so smoothly! One is an 1889 Singer 27 and the other a 1917 Singer 66. I love imagining where they've been, who's used them.
I also have an 1894 Willcox & Gibbs Treadle which i put a motor on, and it sews perfect! Connie
