Alissa,

Stay strong and keep your faith. It is okay for your sister and family to weep. That will help to release some stress. Also, remember the Lord wept.

Along with my thoughts and prayers, I am sending you a never ending supply of hugs from all of your farm sisters.

Bless you and your family. Know that your Farm Sisters are here for you.

I will put the updates on page 1. I want you all to know that I had a great visit with my sister this week. I was able to take her to chemo by myself for 2 days, and we had a very nice visit the first day, but I wore her out by talkng to her so the second day I let her sleep during her chemo treatment. It was hard the first day as she talked about her cancer a little an my heart broke. but I know a man who can. So please keep us all in your prayers. If she has to go back for the 3rd round of chemo I told her I would come back down an stay with her to take her she said okay. anyway just look on the first page at the top for any more updates. thanks again for all your prayers and kind words. Bless you all farm girl hugs alissa

Alissa: I also sat with one of my sisters as she went through chemo. My heart breaks for both of you. But, know that my prayers are on going for your sister. Be strong for her, and be strong for yourself. Again, please, keep us posted. I will put your sister on a prayer chain that local women are doing. I know, as well as you do, the Man upstairs will be listening.
Lots of hugs to you.

Alyssa,
When I first read this I could swear you writing about me and my sister. I can't believe you are going through the same thing at the same time. I will keep you and your sister in prayer. After my sister had her first chemo treatment I went to be with her for a month so I could be there before and after the second treatment. She has it in her lung and liver. It was very hard the first few days after chemo. She started losing her hair after the second treatment so we went right away and were able to find her a wig. The girl at the shop cut her hair short and her husband ended up shaving it for her. She started her chemo in January. She waited until after her third treatment for the scans which she just had done yesterday. She had surgery a year ago on one lung and they removed the tumor and half her lung. Now she is doing chemo because of the liver. Anyway, the one in her lung has shrunk but the one in the liver has grown. We are not giving up. We know God is in control. She is a candidate for a research place in Manhattan. We live close enough that she can stay here and go up there for a consultation. Then go from there. She just contacted them and said if she doesn't hear back before the end of the month she will have the 4th chemo treatment. It is very difficult to see them going through this. We are not close in age but this has given us opportunity to spend time together that we were not able to do before. I just wanted you to know that I know exactly what you are going through and I will keep you both in my prayers. Wasn't sure if I should email you privately or put this out there.

hugs,
Denise

Hi Denise, funny thing is that is my sisters name. she lost most of her hair this last ttreatment. She will not wear a wig says they give her the creeps. but she does wear a hat an looks really good in them. I told her it would grow back. she has had long hair for the last 20 years so it was really hard for her. thank you for the prayers.
God Bless you and your sister.
Prayer coming back to you.

Alissa,
Your sister's name is Denise?

My sister, Dawn, looked really good in the scarves but it was so disturbing to her when the hair started to come out. She hadn't lost much when she decided that she would get the wig. And no one knew it wasn't her own hair. She was so fortunate to find one in similar color and the cut was a bit different but everyone thinks she just got her hair done.
Continuing to pray for you both. I know how hard it is for us to be strong for them and I pray God will give you the strength you need to do what needs to be done too.
hugs,
Denise

Alissa,
Thanks for updating us on your sister's condition. Glad to hear it changed by 12%! Praying all goes well for her with this new treatment.

They took my sis off chemo for a month but she had a blood transfusion and gained some weight so they are letting her start up again.

Praying God's best for your sister!

Alissa,
So glad to hear your happy update. God is good all the time.

My sister lost her battle with cancer on the 12th of this month. But God is still good and he didn't let her suffer with a lot of pain. In fact, her husband said for a couple days before she passed she wasn't taking anything for pain. I will miss her but I would not wish for her to still be dealing with all of that. She is in a far better place and with my Mom now.
I am continuing to pray for my brother in law and nephew and will keep praying for your sister that she will stay cancer free.
hugs,

Denise
