Hey Ladies! I'm on our little Elementary School's PTA, and tonight we're sponsoring a Talent Show! It's been decades since the school of about 240 students has had one. There are about 25 acts.
The school has been rather stingy with their gym mats and microphones and such, but we're working around that. The lady who has chaired this committee has done some great planning! My DH made a dandy sign to go across the stage, and I'm helping here and there.
Our two boys, ages 6 and 8, are doing a Star Wars Light Saber Duel. They are enacting the scene between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, where Vader cuts off Luke's hand and reveals that he is Luke's father... DRAMA at it's finest! I used an Audio Mixer to add some background music and some light saber sounds. It helps cue them for their few lines of dialog. It was my first time working with that sort of tool, so it's far from perfect, but it seems to do the job. We are all a little nervous, but very excited.
I hope for ALL the kids in the show, that it's a positive experience for them. I also hope that some families who DO NOT have kids in the show will still teach the lesson of "support" and bring their kids to WATCH their classmates.
Wish them luck!

Sounds fun! Good luck! Good luck! Good luck! As the stage people say, "Break a leg." Let us know how it goes. Marly

How much fun! Yes, definitely break a leg. I love it: "DRAMA at its finest..." To them it is :) 25 acts is going to be long, but wonderfully fun night! Enjoy yourselves!
