I was wondering how everyone is doing after the blizzard hit so hard out east. I know quite a few are without power too.

I hope everyone is okay and wanted to let them know they are in my thoughts & prayers.

We're south of Rochester, Lake Ontario. Only had 6 inches at home but i believe Rochester and those living on the lake got much more. There was a nasty layer of ice under the pretty white stuff. I'm wondering about our farmgirls in the New England states. Home everyone is safe.

Oh boy did we get snow!! Almost three feet where I live. No heat and no power from eight o'clock last night to almost three thirty this afternoon. But I am not complaining! Everyone was cold and my teenage boys were quite bored, but everyone was inside and safe. And I think that we are quite lucky. We got our power back quite fast and the house is finally heating back up. I'm grateful that the power company worked so hard and so fast for us and I hope that everyone stays safe and get's their power back soon.

hugs

Over here on Long Island, we got anywhere from 2 feet (where I live) to 3 feet further out on the east end of the Island. Our Town has declared a state of emergency, and no one is supposed to be on the roads. Thank goodness we havent lost power- it is supposed to go down to 15 degrees tonight. Brrr.
The snow sure does look pretty from inside the warm house, but let me tell ya, it wasnt any fun shoveling it all day! My DH was out there for about 6 hours straight. I took breaks in between, but boy, am I going to sleep like a baby tonight. Whew!
Praying that everyone stays safe and warm.
Hugs,

~Laurie

What a wallop you guys got! WOW!!
We have been getting snow for the past two days, but not really blizzard conditions. We do have close to a foot but the county has plowed the road and a neighbor came and plowed our driveway.
Went snowshoeing with my doggie this morning!

I hope life is getting back to normal for everyone. Having to go without power is no fun. The best advice for everyone when the weather gets like this, is to stay home!

Take care, stay warm and safe!

I got about 2.5 feet snow with LOTS of higher drifts because it was powder snow with high winds. The way the wind was whipping, it blew it all away from the barn door ( which opens out) so I was really blessed since that was where the snow blower was housed.. and the goats. Took several hours to get dug out everywhere but now we are all set. Snowed about 3 inches of wet snow today.
But on a ... spring is coming note... my hens started back to laying yesterday!!
