Your blocks arrived today along with your yo-yos that you made for the girls. We sat right down with all the other yo-yos you and others sent and the ones we have been making and started to add them to the table topper. I posted the lay out on my blog. thank you ever so much

Hi, Sunshine. So glad the blocks arrived. I am glad the girls are enjoying the yo-yos. This time my daughter did more than half of them. It will defintiely be a winter project for us to work on after the holidays. I realize now how much easier and fun handwork sewing can be than machine sewing. No big blocks of time sitting at the machine, and you can visit while working on them.

Apologies to all. I just mailed my squares this afternoon. (11-17-06) 25 lashes with a wet noodle.

PS Has anyone made a tumbler quilt? The pattern is interesting. I might use my squares to make one.

Eaglenest that is fine don't worry at all. I have one started somewhere with the tumblers which are the fat at one end and small at the other end rectangles not sure how to explain I just use a picture
the one I want to do still is an apple core quilt

Yeah I have made some and I have made samplers of them.

here is a link if you want to paper piece them very easy and a take any where type of project

click on 6 pointed diamonds you use the same templates
when you get them trace the template on a piece of card stock and then draw a 1/4 seam allouance (sp) around it cut out new piece this is your template for cutting. the rest of the pieces that came are your templates for piecing ( instructions come with the templates) I like to by them in bulk so you don't have to worry about running out.
have fun this is where I got the templates for my mini grandmothers flower garden
All of these type of quilts are known as charm quilts meaning the entire quilt is made of just one to two shapes.

I made a doll quilt to sell on etsy awhile back that was the tumbler pattern..it is different than tumbling blocks,Nicie...I want to do that one sometime soon too....it looks so 3D

What are the measurements for the tumbler piece? I could play around with paper and probably figure it out but it would be a lot less work if I had the ratio of wide edge to narrow edge and the height.

I can hardly wait! I just love getting those charm squares..what a fun surprize!! Oh ...Sunshine..you may have noticed that one of my prints only had 11 squares instead of 12. Just short ME that one (the brown calico) I did a crummy job of cutting and ended up with long strips too narrow for the 12" squares and was one short..oops. It was the first fabric I cut..so I did much better on the others.

a good template to use for the charm squares is a floor tile..I had some vinyl floor tile squares left over and they are exactly 12 by 12. So, in case anyone does these again..there is an idea for you. :0)

Momof3 yours came today these will be mailed Monday or Tuesday as my schedule allows. Mail man has already come and gone today. If you are just in group one I will mail back your blocks on one of those two days. If you are in group two we are still waiting for two people. If you are in both then your blocks will be mailed after group two is compleat thanks every one in group one all blocks are here.

Thanks Sunshine. I'm glad they made it. I received a phone call from our RS president with the news that my friend's daughter has come out of her coma and is responding to simple commands. That is a miracle. She will stay at the facility in Mesa for a while as she improves.

I don't want any one to think I forgot life has been crazy the last few days with two kids birthday parties Christmas parties and school functions. I will have these in the mail by the weekend sorry for the delay I just wanted every one to know what was happening.
