The Urban Farmgirls are on a roll! At our monthly meeting last night, we learned how to needle felt. One of the girls made these incredible needle felting kits for each of us ($10 each - I helped her to Kool-Aid dye the roving!) and we set in. I tell ya, there is nothing more fun than sitting around gabbing with your friends, eating amazing potluck food and punching a little needle into some wool and a sponge. Stress relief!!
We also spent a Saturday a few weeks ago learning to can apple-rhubarb butter (and apple-rhubarb sauce) at a Farmgirl's house. 47 jars for starters, fun!
Next month is holiday cards and the Farmgirl in charge of that one wants to do a kit too. Kits are great because it's just one Farmgirl who has to do the work that month, then everyone else just chips in with their money and learns a new skill.
Sadly, Katie-ell, I think that a 7-hour drive is a bit too far to go for a monthly meeting. :) But perhaps the Minneapolis Urban Farmgirls will take the train to Chicago for a weekend at some point...now that would be a Farmgirl adventure!
You Urban Farmgirls ARE on a roll! This sounds like such a fun group - thank you so much for telling us about the meetings and what you are doing. Now I'm adding needle felting to the list of things I want to learn how to do!!!!
