Hello all! Looking for help here....I would like to make ornaments for our Christmas tree this year, ones that I would sew as our DD is walking now and I can see that glass ornaments and her are not going to get along this year. Anyhoo...I wanted to do a primitive theme with snowmen and such and was wondering if anyone knew where to get some good patterns for anything like this.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Ashley, cookie cutters as a template work well. I'm assuming you want to sew them? You could use blanket stitching to sew the sides together.

I'd go to ebay and search for "ornies"- you'll find tons of pictures on there to spark your ideas.

Create and Decorate magazine is oriented to country primitve style. They have a special ornament issue out now that includes sewing, painting and paper/collage ornaments. It is very cool. I like the one that is homespun, tea dyed, heart shaped with wire hangers. I might try and get them done this year.
