Hello to all my sister farm girls! I just joined the group last week, and I am so excited to be here. I am a part-time registered nurse, part-time organic farmer, and full-time homeschooling mom. We live in Darlington, SC. I love all things farm related. Hope to get to know you all better.

Mary Ellen, it sounds like you have a dream job. Even though it is probably exhausting, it can be rewarding. Welcome to the group. These ladies are a wealth of information and lots of fun to be around.

Welcome! I love how you described yourself as part-time other stuff and full-time mom. Us farmgirls have so many endeavors and through it all one of the constants is our 'mom-hood'.

There are several homeschoolers on the forum. I'm down to just one now....a 16 year old. I'm getting panicky because there are always so many cool books and studies coming out and I won't be homeschooling any longer!!!

One of the best compliments from one of my daughters: "Moma, you smell good...like dirt."

Some of you are in familiar territory. We lived in Coon Rapids, Minnesota for three years and visited Wisconsin. We spent about three years in Charlotte, NC/Fort Mill, SC. We also spent about three years in Columbia, SC. To Mrs Tracy in Beaufort, SC, I have spent much time in Beaufort in my lifetime. One of our favorite fishing/crabbing/shrimping areas is at Sheldon.

I see a couple of you ladies have mentioned Minnesota and Columbia, SC. Those are also cities we have previously lived in. Right now, I am glad we are not up North. Y'all are pretty chilly right now!

Hello Mary Ellen,
Welcome to the warmest place to be in the winter. With the Farmgirls!!

My ex was born in Greenville and lived in Greer for years. I had the oppty to visit Greer a few years ago at Christmas. It is a lovely little town with lots of history. He lived in a house his granddad built, which was one of three he built.
Come and visit this site lots and you will always return with a smile. Check out the Barnyard Buddies. So cute!

Hello Mary Ellen! I am new too! Just started today and noticed that you are from my home state of SC. I was born in Hartsville and have family in Florence and Darlington. It is so nice to get to say "Hello" to a sister Sandlapper and farmgirl. I miss the tobacco barns and rows of soybeans from my childhood. You are from a wonderful area of the US. Have a wonderful day!

Hello! Just joined the group. I'm excited to meet some fellow farmgirls. I just moved into my farm, and there are tons of projects to do. I don't know where to start! Fences? Pruning? Gates? Tilling? Preparing to move the horses in? Yikes. Maybe I better unpack first...I can't wait to get advice from everyone.
