I never thought I'd be so happy to find out that my child has mono! We got his test results back this morning and it was positive, but he has a very atypical case. No real fever, no sore throat, no fatigue. Hopefully, it stays that way.

It's hard to keep an active 9 year old down though. He's really bummed about having to miss several basketball games, but he understands that the concern right now is that his spleen is quite swollen and can be injured easily.

Thanks for all your prayers this morning. My hubby and I were really nervous about the appointment.

But yay, mono!

One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.

Congratulation on your case of Mono- LOL
I too had Mono when I was your sons age. I am so happy that he has been diagnosed and is on the road to recovery. AMEN!

Wendy,

Oh my goodness! I am sorry, but I had to chuckle here. First, let me second everything that Laurentany had to say with a second AMEN!

My chuckling is due to a situation that happened about 21 years ago.
I kept having horrific headaches, blurred vision, fatigue and some stomach upsets (read between the lines on that last one). Anyway, I just knew that I had a brain tumor of the worse kind. It had to be a brain tumor. There was no doubt in my mind. This pain was 10 times more horrific than any migraine pain I had ever suffered with.

After many brain scans, EEG tests, etc., The doctor found my source of pain, I had a ruptured sinus cavity caused by my face hitting the steering wheel after my car seat and seatbelt broke from being hit in the back from a drunk driver. The pain did not start until about 2-3 months after the accident. Needless to say, I was so happy it was just a ruptured sinus, I was ready to throw a party. LOL!

Give that little guy of yours a big hug, and tell him we hope he gets to feeling better really quick.

Hugs to you as well. No one can worry like a mother of a small child.

Mono is a relief, huh? Hope that your son is through the worst of it soon and that you can keep him occupied. Take good care.

Warmly,
Pam

Wendy,

Just checking in to see how your little guy is doing. I sure hope
he is feeling much better. Hope you are getting some rest as well.
Mommies just do not rest well when we have a sick child.

Take care and give the little one a farmsister squeeze from me.

Hugs to you!
