Last night, while sitting in my chair waiting on The Voice to come on, my chest startes hurting really bad. Like right between my breasts. Also felt like I had a huge lump in my throat. This went on for a few hours, off and on. I did drink some soad water, thinking I needed to burp. I even Googled symptoms of a heart attack. But really did not have any like I read. Like pain in the left arm, back, neck, sweating, nausea. None of that. Just right in the middle of my chest. And the lump in the throat. And it eventually stopped.

So was wondering if it was just indigestion. Has anyone else felt like this? Should I worry and go have it checked out?

Get it checked out! Women's heart attack symptoms are vastly different then men's and the medical word has just caught onto that fact. Even it if it was heartburn, you should find out for sure!

I hope you never experience this again!

Kris, I agree, I'd have it checked out. Hope you are feeling better.

I'm fine now. It did only last a few hours. Kind of scary. I do need to get more excercise and eat better. Could stand to lose about 50 pounds too.

I had that same thing. Spent three days in the hospital after going through the ER. Seems I had a blood clot floating around and it ended up in my right middle lung. I am now on warfarin and have been for about two years. This all happened as I was beginning chemotherapy. It was not a pretty year. However, get it looked at, because it could be your body telling you something is amiss.

Check out acid reflux or GERD on the internet. Maybe what you had.

Diane, that could possibly be the problem. I think I need to stop eating bread too. I am a bread-a-holic. And all things white too. Ugh. I know I need to do these things. But I love any kind of bread. And I have noticed lately that it hurts when I do eat it. So, I need to change my ways if I don't want to hurt.

There are some pretty great gluten free breads on the market and recipes on the internet. I also hear that apple cider vinegar with the "mother" in it helps this too...if you can stand the taste of it. Many people mix it with water and honey. Nothing to put off though, my DH had it so bad that it caused ultzers in his esophogus. Get it checked out please, hugs.

I agree with Diane. Acid reflux. If I eat to much or to fast, or lay down to soon after eating, or certain foods, I get those exact symptoms. Came out of no where a few years ago. But you should see your Doctor to be sure.

I have been ok since that last episode. I did eat some Pringles yesterday and started feeling a little like it was going to happen again. Today we all went to my mom's for lots and lots and lots of goodies. She has been baking for days. I love my mom. And her goodies. But it kind of hurt when I was eating some things. But it was SO good. And I am ok right now so far. I'm going to drink a big cold glass of goat milk!

Definitely get checked out by a doctor. I was having the same symptoms as you. They kept telling me I was having panic attacks. One doctor decided to do some tests and they found out that my esophagus was out of sync. I have since learned to always have water with me when I eat. Chew your food a little bit more and wash it down with water if necessary. Take time between bites. But see a doctor first to make sure something else isn't going on.

Kris...
I asked my Dr. the about the same symptoms when I saw him, because I have GERD. I said it's reflux, right? He said, maybe. Since I was born into the wrong family when it comes to heart health, he orderred a chemical stress test (knee problems). I was so scared ! But turned out it wasn't really that bad.

Drs decided that my heart looked good, but my blood pressure not so much. Added a few meds to my regime . FEEL SOO MUCH BETTHER.

A guess is as good as mile in some cases, but not with your health. Talk to your doctor anyway.
Take care and wishing you good health and peace of mind
