My family loves to play board games. I have the good standbys like Monopoly, Game of Life, and Scrabble. What wonderful games do you suggest I buy for this years addition to my collection?

I've always enjoyed a good game of "Sorry". We have all the older Trivial Pursuit games too. Our youngest son is 9, so we play a lot of educational games with him such as; Pass the Pig, Money, Money, Think Fun's Math Dice, and Word Flip.
I'd rather play a game than watch TV any time!

Thanks for the ideas, Dawn. But, I should have let everyone know that my kids are adults. I don't have any grandchildren yet. The game of "Sorry" is a fun one that I forgot about. Thanks.

Upwords and Jargon. both word tile games, but not as intense as Scrabble. My husband will play Upwords with me, because he figures he has a chance of winning, but never Scrabble. :-) |

We love yatzee at our house. We also love doing jigsaw puzzles as a family.

I second the praise for Apples to Apples. Our family has had a lot of laughs sitting around the table playing that game.

Sequence is the most fun for us. Easy to learn and takes a bit of time to master. You can play in teams, which is fun. All ages.
I also like Racko. Another easy to learn, all ages game.

We love Apples to Apples too -- for all ages -- and our favorite for groups is Guesstures --kind of like a fast charades -- people seem to "come out of their shell" when playing it! ;)

Hi Julie, the game my family recently have been enjoying is called "Malarky". It's ages 10 and up. Very clean, funny game. I think it's made by "Patch" and comes in a tin box not a cardboard box.

Ha... go ahead with Apples to Apples, but I've played it, and we never really liked it. Only played it a couple of times with the same family, so maybe it was "environmental." How about Balderdash? That's our favorite.

Thanks ladies for all the suggestions. The two games that were added to my collection are Cranium Brain Breaks and Bananagrams.

Ooooo. I love cranium games. Another good one might be Aggravation. Sort of like Sorry, but with more strategies.

Bananagrams is a favorite here!
Oh, and Aggravation - I played that with Dad all the time when I was a kid, and still love it because of the special memories associated with it.
