Hi Ladies,
This will be my third year hosting a Christmas cookie exchange party. They're so much fun. Last year most of the ladies agreed that I should have them all bring something for lunch rather than preparing it all myself, which I enjoyed, but I guess they want to contribute too! I can't think of how to organize it so everyone can bring something, and not have too much food, or much of the same. Should I do a theme of some sort, that might be fun, or just have them bring whatever they wish? I just can't get going this year with any ideas, do you have any to share?

Well, how many people are coming?
Since it's luncheon foods, I would suggest someone bring individual items--For example:

Each person is assigned one thing--they can make it or buy it.

tuna salad
chicken salad (could even be one that is baked warm--delicious!)
toast points or croissants, mixed sandwich rolls
fruit salad
punch or warmed cider
a tray of cookies that you won't be exchanging to snack on :)

You can provide the plates, napkins, etc...but they provide the food.

I have had women each bring a sandwich, which are cut in 4 and placed out on oretty serving dishes. Wonderful selections come in. I buy chips or make a salad.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies, they got me started on some ideas. The sandwhiches would be a neat idea, so would the warm chicken salad. I've got lots more planning to do so I'd better get cracking!
