Hi Ladies!
I used to have a recipe to make candles out of apple sauce, tons of cinnamon & I believe white glue........ I THINK????????? They smelled GREAT! Would anyone have the recipe or one similar? They make fun Christmas stocking stuffers.
Thanks for helping
Judy

Hi Judy,

I am not sure about the candles that you are talking about but I do know about the Applesauce & Cinnamon Ornaments that Annika talked about back in September of 2011. Here is the recipe.

Apple-sauce & Cinnamon Ornaments

3/4 cup applesauce

1 bottle (4.12) ground cinnamon

Mix applesauce with cinnamon to form a stiff dough. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters. Make hole in top of ornament with skewer or straw. Carefully lay ornaments on rack to dry. Let dry 1-2 days or until dry, turning occasionally. Hang with ribbon, raffia or twine. Makes 12-15 ornaments.

Wow THANKS for the recipe! Maybe I'll roll them out thicker & try that. Might take a month to dry but I'll experiment
I just remember these candles smelled wonderful!

Judy, did you actually burn these candles or were they more of a solid fragrance source?

Maybe that's where I'm going wrong because I keep calling them candles.....it's been a long time ago but I can't remember actually burning them. They're probably solid???
I'm experimenting tonight & I'll see if a end up in a mess. LOL
