Does anyone know the best food mixtures for cockatiels?

I use some seed, treats, millet. They were seed raised with the previous owner so getting them to eat fresh vegs doesn't happen much!

They Love avi-cakes!!! But I hear pro/con as to it being just a treat vs a daily food?
Even get mixed thoughts from the pet stores. Any thoughts would be appreciated! I'm trying different things for them

Farmgirl hugs,
Linda

Linda--I have a cockatiel (nineteen years old) and he has eaten pellets all his life. The Roudybush and Harrison's brands are the best pellets. They have no artificial colors or additives. I had some problems with a brand called PrettyBird. It can be a challenge to convert them to pellets but the pellets are so much healthier. Seeds are high in fat. You can find lots to choose from in the Drs. Foster and Smith catalog.

Thank you ladies!
Will look into pellets and trying to ease them into new and healthier food!
