I have had about 3 jobs in 2 wks. None of which I liked, after spending so long in one job its hard to find one that fits. I finally start one I hope I will keep. It's on the phones again, cant seem to get away from that. But it pays well. All I want to do is bake & have a small Tea & baking business but I realize it may not completely happen till I retire. After winter I'll do the farm & flea markets again, I loved that. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Good Luck finding one that fits that you can hang with for a while. I have a hard time with that. if i am not challanged i get bored.

Michele,
if you love baking and entertaining as much as you do..why not apply for a job with a catering company in your area?
you can get "in the know" and start working with/for potential future clients. you'll also get alot of hands on experience and get to know what people like and don't like with their food.
Or even wedding cake providers in your area.
Of course noone needs to know what your ultimate goal is, unless you chose to tell them. But at least it would provide some in depth look at how the businesses really operate.
Just a thought.

Thanks Tina & everyone for your ideas. Right now my "other new job" is doing fine. Its good money which I ned to start up my own & the hrs. are perfect.

Tina had a great idea, though. If you look for another job, look for a tea room, small cafe, or a bakery or a job that would at least be close to your dream job. Then you can learn the ropes and enjoy the surroundings at the same time. Good luck!
When I left my old job 3 1/2 years ago, which I hated because of the stress (it was bookeeper for an ad agency) I said I would love to work at a church. Now I am working two days a week at our church office, and I think it will increase with time - as long as I can still be with my grandbabies! That is job number 1. The pay is not money, but it is gold.

yeah bluesky you are right & I tried that twice so far. I went to shop-rite for the bakery, they hired me & when I got there that day they said they needed me in the deli, no openings in the bakery. I got mad & left. I've worked the deli many times before, I dont like it. Then, I went to a Panera breads, they said they train & promised the moon but all they needed was a counter person. Im ok for now, I will keep plugging away until I find the right one. The job I have now pays really well, its NOT my dream job but it will help me get there. It will happen when its supposed to happen but I am so IMPATIENT. I pray always for patience because I have none when it comes to stuff like this.

Michele -- I'm glad your new job is working out. I just went through the same thing myself. Worked for two weeks and then quit. I was doing bookkeeping. The place was a mess financially -- no money in the bank, payroll checks that weren't any good, unpaid bills, etc. Lots of things that went against my morals so I left. I know that there is something better out there.
