I noticed one of my girls was limping this morning, and she still gave me a good lap or two around the pen. She had some string wrapped around her toes, it took a bit to get it off, but no damage just ruffled feathers. This same girl had been sitting in a nest box, yesterday, late in the afternoon, but she is in molt so I figured she was just hiding from the other hens. Good thing I saw her limping this morning, otherwise, I would not have picked her up for another day or so to check on her molt and feel her crop, which was full. Just a reminder to look closer at the girls sometimes.
