Ham that is. we bought a whole pig and need to decide on cuts. The butcher has asked us smoked or fresh in regards to ham.

Any thoughts?

Oh, I'm so glad you asked, Deb! We just committed to sharing a half pig with friends of ours and the farmer asked what cuts we wanted and whether we wanted a fresh or smoked ham... I'm lost! Thanks for asking! I'm eager to hear what the girls have to say, too! - Nini

My husband and I tell the butcher to smoke the "hams" only. I think we've had some of the ham steaks smoked too.
